Grande: Rio Valle de Allende at Talamantes

Conservación: At the time of my recent visit in April 2023 at the end of the dry season, the river was muddy with no visibility, according to local people, due to works at 'El Duranzo" dam up the river (Artigas Azas, 2023).

As in other places in central and northern Mexico, the river is infected with exotic species, during my visit I could see many Lepomis cyanellus, and the crustacean Procambarus clarkii was very abundant.
