" Until today the genus Heterophallus REGAN, 1914 is consisting of Heterophallus rachovii REGAN, 1914 from the sourroundings of Jesus Carranza in southeastern Veracruz and of Heterophallus echeagarayi (ALVAREZ, 1952) from the Rio Michol, near Palenque, Chiapas in Mexico. Prof. R. R. MILLER, Michigan found an apparently new species of this genus in the Rio Grijalva drainage of Tabasco in 1952 which is to be described in this paper "
