Easily solve log-in problems

Log in problems to the site are easily fixed, please follow the instructions:

The log in form for Freshwater Fishes of Mexico can be found in "www.mexfish.info/login.php.

In the FFM, usernames and passwords as case sensitive, that is, the selected words have to be inserted with the lower and upper case character combination as they were originally provided or updated — if they have been updated.

If you forgot your username, you can use your registered e-mail in the place of the username, the system will locate your account and log you in.

If you forgot your password, you can use the “forgot password?” utility. To access it, please click with your left mouse button while hovering your mouse pointer over the “forgot password?” link, located in the lower left part of the dialog box in the log in form. Once you do, you will be redirected to a page where you can use your e-mail to generate a new password. Just type your e-mail address in the e-mail box and click on “Apply”, you will shortly receive an e-mail with your log in information.

Passwords in the FFM are encrypted, so if forgotten they cannot be recovered, but the system will generate a new password for you and send it to your registered e-mail address. Subsequently, you can change your username and/or password using the edit form in your user page. The user page can be accessed by clicking on the “My account” sign on the right side of the green menu bar at the top of each of the FFM pages (except the home page, where you have to click instead on your name printed in yellow case).

If the system is not remembering you when you pass from one page to another, that is, it does not recognize that you are logged in as soon as you leave the page where you logged in, the most likely cause is that your internet browser is not configured to accept “cookies” from the site. Cookies are necessary for the system as they keep some identification information to know it is you visiting another page. Please make sure you have allowed cookies from the FFM in your browser configuration.

Another potential problem that you may have is that even if you log in the system you are not allowed to see the member’s only information, if this is the case please verify that your subscription is current by visiting your user page, where this information can be found in the right side under “Groups I am part of”.
