Conservation: Rheoheros lentiginosus is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2018). The species is thought to be widespread and while it is possibly declining in parts of its range to the threats of deforestation, habitat degradation, and invasive species, it is not thought that any global population decline is likely to happen (Daniels, 2019).
