Conservation: Thorichthys socolofi is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (DD) data deficient (2018). Thorichthys socolofi is listed in the Mexican Official Norm NOM-059-ECOL-2001 with a status of special protection. The habitat remain stable in most of its range (2009).
