Sub-species:
Conservation: Algansea monticola is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (NT) near threatened (2018). The total population size of Algansea monticola is unknown though is inferred to be declining. Regional impacts of groundwater extraction for agricultural, municipal, and industrial use are likely to negatively impact population size and the current threats have not been evaluated (Domínguez Domínguez & Lyons, 2019).
