Chiapaheros grammodes female guarding her fry in Nandaburé, in a small affluent of Rio Grande de Grijalva, Grijalva drainage [Chiapas]. The female, quite visible with her black pelvic fins, with fast runs defends a large territory in the middle of which her fry graze the sunken leaves for food. The much larger male (not visible in this video) temporarily abandons the territory at the slightest sign of danger.
