Conservation: Rheoheros lentiginosus est évalué par l'Union Internationale pour la Conservation de la Nature dans la Liste Rouge des espèces menacées comme étant (LC) préoccupation mineure (2018). The species is thought to be widespread and while it is possibly declining in parts of its range to the threats of deforestation, habitat degradation, and invasive species, it is not thought that any global population decline is likely to happen (Daniels, 2019).
