Conservation: Algansea monticola est évalué par l'Union Internationale pour la Conservation de la Nature dans la Liste Rouge des espèces menacées comme étant (NT) quasi menacé (2018). The total population size of Algansea monticola is unknown though is inferred to be declining. Regional impacts of groundwater extraction for agricultural, municipal, and industrial use are likely to negatively impact population size and the current threats have not been evaluated (Domínguez Domínguez & Lyons, 2019).
