Subscribers can now upload a fish photograph and compare it with the determined photographs in the FFM collection. Identify a fish offers up to five possible visual matches, with supporting reference photographs and links to the current taxon profiles. These suggestions are not formal determinations. Some fishes cannot be identified reliably from photographs alone, and taxa absent from the reference gallery may receive poor matches. Uploaded photographs are processed temporarily, deleted after processing, and are not added to the catalog or retained for training. Subscribers initially have ten successful recognitions per day, counted in Mexico City time.
