Conservation: The place has changed significantly since my previous visit in 2007, with the little creek having been diverted into a pool. One segment of the creek where I observed and photographed C. pachycephalus in the past is now dry, the creek currently flowing over a muddy substrate in no more than 20 cm of water. The fish however are there.
