Conservation: Although passing by town, during my visit on 14-May-2022 the river did not look polluted but as it is sadly regular with streams near towns a lot of disgusting garbage was spread in it. There was an abundance of introduced Amatitlania nigrofasciata (the pink form!!), as well as Poecilia reticulata. Fortunately, the population of Xenotoca eiseni was still thriving, and we found a good number of them (Artigas Azas & Granados, 2022).
