Conservation: Sicydium salvini is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2019). On a local scale, there are likely impacts to habitat quality resulting from agricultural development and urbanization. However, on a range-wide scale, there are no known pervasive threats affecting this species (Snoeks et al., 2019).
